Our company only use solar modules that are manufactured by reputable companies that have a proven track record, and have been in business for at least 10 years., as most good solar panels or modules carry a 10 year workmanship warranty, and a 25 year linear production guarantee. In installations where shading may be an issue, optimisors are installed, as shading on one panel can bring the whole string of panels energy production down.
We only use inverters that are approved by council, these inverters must additionally have a warranty of at least 5 years, and these warranties must be able to be extended by up to 20 years. We do not use the same type and or make of inverter for every solution, as certain inverters are better suited for specific applications
Lith - ion batteries are the only solution to long term reliable batteries for solar, it is important to choose a battery that has been tested in the field, and has a life span of at least 10 years. Additionally we prefer to use batteries that are modular, so that systems can be expanded as clients needs grow. The modular system insures that if there is a faulty unit, it can be replaced easily without downtime on the system. Lith-ion batteries have a usage warranty of 10 years if cycled within the manufacturers specifications, all batteries are registered with the manufacturor.
Switch Gear and Safety
Any Solar System must be earthed, with an dedicated earth spike, and surge protection for every DC String. In addition each PV string must have a DC isolator . The cables used must be compliant , and must be in conduit, Battery cables and lugs must be compliant. Batteries must be enclosed to prevent accidental arcing caused by a metal object across terminals. Power indication lights must be installed in the Distribution boards. Changeover switches are used in case of system failure.
We use monitoring portals as it is very important to us to ensure that your system is running at optimal efficiency. These portals also ensure that you can manage your power effectively, We also use them as diagnostic tools from off site, and will often know that your system has a problem before you are aware of it.
Mounting systems are roof or site specific, WE only use engineered certified solar mounting structures as insurance companies will not pay out if the incorrect mounting structure has been used. In addition solar panels are exposed to wind lift and drag. Certain types of roofs need specialized fastenings. We only use Stainless steel and aluminium certified mounting structures.
Certificate of Compliance, Engineers sign off and workmanship guarantee
Every installation will be issued a amendment to your existing certificate of compliance, and where necessary an engineers sign of ( Grid tied or Hybrid systems). This certificate is only valid on the work that we have done. if any other electrical work is done the COC must be amended by the electrician that did the work. Any work done by unqualified persons renders our workmanship and COC and Engineers sign off nul and void. We guarantee our workmanship for two years.
Registration of your system
Every Solar System or SSEG as it is know to council must be registered with the relevant authorities, this means that the inverter must be on the approved inverter list, that the coc must be current, line diagrams, block diagrams, owners identity documents, municipal or rates account, engineers sign off and supplemental contract plus a upgrade of meter form, wither prepaid or AMI meter if required, needs to be submitted and approved before the installation can be started, WE have dedicated staff who will facilitate this process for you. Failure to comply will result in a fine and decommission of your system.
